My only complaint is that it is smooth. It even survived a trip to Florida for T-Day. It makes it easy to clean, but isn't as non-slip as I was hoping for. After reading all the other reviews, I didn't think this was a bad product. No rips or tears and we are pretty rough on our board.
I have tried it with bare feet and with socks, and it makes no difference. I was very excited to get a silicone sleeve for my Wii Fit balance board with cold weather coming and wanting to be able to wear socks without slipping. I wish I hadn't invested the money in this item. The only advantage is in certain yoga positions, it allows you to grip it with your bare feet a little better. It has a number of places underneath the board to attach it (which one would think should hold it in place). Unfortunately, the sleeve slides all over the board, particularly during activities that involve moving on the board such as the hula hoop, for example.
Everyone loves it and it gives the board more pizaz if I can use that one ^_^ I got this for a friend of mine whom we play and battle on the Wii Fit games and weight loss activities. I noticed that after awhile that the mat tends to look unsanitary and i wanted to do something that would make all 10 of us feel better while playing this game and sometimes using our hands.
If you want to keep your balance board clean, just wipe it down periodically with a damp paper towel, and use a can of compressed air to get the dust and particles out of the crevices. I bought one in pink from a store for the same price and, although it fit perfectly, it bunches under my feet when they slide on the balance board (as when Hoola-hooping).
